It's and then like shooting fish in a barrel to have a love / detest relationship with Halloween costumes when you are the Art TEACHER at an elementary school. I'thousand guessing that in middle and high school, it'south not such an all-consuming mean solar day. Merely in kinder through 5th form? It'south everything. Everyone from the principal to the custodian in our school used to dress up.

Back in those days, early October would observe me annually wrestling with this list of requirements. It was very important that my costume be:

  1. Simple. As in made in a few hours at most. (I was working two jobs at the time.)
  2. Inexpensive. Similar $twenty cheap. After all, it was merely going to get worn for ane twenty-four hour period, at the well-nigh.
  3. Creative. I was the art teacher, after all.
  4. Different. I couldn't go too excited over pulling out the same one from the year before.

Well, over the years, I found a few ideas that I liked, only none equally much as this ode to Picasso with a cubism paper bag mask. It took less than an hour to color, toll me naught at all, and best of all — got a chuckle from more than than a few teachers and parents. I'd accept a hard time topping that kind of success rate today!
